CTET Exam Introduction

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) through the online method in the second quarter of 2019-20.

CTET is a national recruitment process to appoint skilful teachers for Primary level & Upper Primary Level.

Earlier the CTET was being conducted twice every year, but as per the latest notice, Starting from 2019-20, CTET will be conducted once every year from now.

The official notification along with the examination dates are awaited for the CTET 2019-20.

CTET Exam 2019 Notification

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the CTET 2019-20 notification on 12 June 2019-20 on its official website.

CTET Exam 2019 Exam Pattern

CTET Exam is a two hours exam consist of 150 multiple choice questions. Two separate exams are conducted for Class I-V teachers and Class VI-VIII teachers.

CTET Exam 2019 Cut-Off Score

The cut-off score is the minimum score a candidate should get to qualify for the exam. This year the exam will be conducted in 2019. Candidates should score above the cut-off to become eligible for teaching job. The cut-off score will be released on the official website after the commencement of the written exam.

CTET Exam 2019 Result

CTET Exam Result 2019-20 is expected to be released tentatively in 2019-20. The result will be declared on the official website after the release of the cut-off score. Candidates will be allowed to check their exam result from the official website once it will be released.


  • What is the essential qualification for the CTET Exam?

The candidates should be Intermediate with minimum 50 per cent marks with a diploma in elementary education for Paper 1 and should possess Graduation with B.ed for Paper 2.

  • What is the age criterion to apply CTET Exam?

No age criteria are there for CTET Exam mentioned in the official notification.

  • What is the age relaxation for SC/ST candidates  CTET Exam?

There is no age bar for candidates applying for CTET.

  • What is the Application fee CTET Exam?

The general and OBC category candidates need to pay Rs 700 for Paper I and 12oo for Paper 1 and both. The SC/ST/PH candidates need to pay Rs 300 and 600 respectively.

  • When will admit card be released for the CTET Exam?

The admit card is released on 22 Nov 2018.

  • What is the selection procedure of CTET Exam?

The candidates would be declared qualified on the basis of marks secured in the written exam.

  • Are there any changes in the CTET Exam pattern?

There are no changes made in the exam pattern. 

  • When will the result be declared of CTET Exam?

The result will be out 15 to 20 days after the exam day.

  • Will there be any interview after the written result of CTET Exam?

There is no provision of the interview in the selection process of CTET.

  • Will the exam conducted online or offline (OMR Based) of CTET Exam?

The exam will be conducted through Offline Mode.

  • Is there a criterion for negative marking in CTET Exam?

There will be no negative marking in CTET Exam as mentioned in the official advertisement.
